Epilepsy
Q. I have epilepsy. How will this affect my polygraph examination?
A. Examinees with controlled epilepsy are given polygraph examinations routinely. If the examinee has uncontrolled epilepsy, he or she may have to provide the polygraph examiner with a written document from a doctor indicating that it is safe for the examinee to take a polygraph examination. Medications given to control epilepsy do not cause false readings on the polygraph, though very high dosages may result in an inconclusive determination in rare cases.
